Which floor is which?
Upstairs at the Bear is our restaurant located on the second floor with our terraces overlooking St Helier & our first floor is where our newly refurbished pub is located.
Is there a difference between the restaurant and the pub?
Yes, the restaurant serves our monthly changing menu along with a new Chop menu, all served on white tablecloths with the restaurant service in tow.
Our pub will consist of true pub classics that everyone knows and loves.
Will the large sharing pies be available in both?
Yes absolutely, with the addition on individual pies too.
Are children welcome in both the restaurant and pub?
Yes, the restaurant & the pub are child friendly. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any children after 9pm in the pub.
Are you dog friendly?
The pub is dog friendly, and we look forward to welcoming your furry friends!
Do you serve Sunday lunch in both?
We sure do!
Can we book the terrace areas?
Our terraces are first come first serve due to the nature of the area and we want everyone to enjoy. If requested on booking, we can make a note but can’t guarantee.
Will breakfast be available in both?
We will not be serving breakfast in either.
Are you available for private hire?
Absolutely yes! Please contact the team on info@thebear.je for more information.
Are you open for Christmas & New Year?
We will be closed for Christmas Day to give the team a day with loved ones. We are open for the rest to share the festive cheer!
Will my gift card from Upstairs at Anley be valid for The Bear?
Yes, the UAA vouchers can be used in The Bear.
Is The Bear wheelchair accessible?
Due to the nature of the building unfortunately not, please ring ahead of time to discuss with the team to see what we can do.
Do you have baby changing facilities?
We do indeed! They are located in the female toilets on the first floor.
